Man on trial in RAK over chicken's death

An Arab man is standing trial in Ras Al Khaimah on charges of causing the death of a chicken owned by his neighbours, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Police had summoned the man after a report by his neighbours that he caused the death of their rare Thai chicken while moving its cage without permission from them.

The neighbours told police that the man randomly moved the cage, leading to the death of their cock, with an estimated value of Dh3,000.

The Arabic language daily Al Khaleej said the court on Monday adjourned hearings into the case to another session.
