An Emirati manager forged a photocopy of his employer’s passport and used it to open a bank account and get a cheque book, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

MMS, 37, manager, asked RK, fugitive, to forge his employer’s passport photocopy by placing his picture instead and making a photocopy on it.

The manager is accused of using the forged passport photocopy and filling an application for  opening an account with ADCB based on which he received a cheque book.

The employer Masoud Amin, 40, Emirati, testified that he has a licence of a contracting company which is managed by the accused.

“I keep a photocopy of my passport with the accused to enable him finish the company’s formalities,” he said.

Fahed Saleh, of Ajman Police who investigated the case said that the accused confessed that he was aware that RK forged the passport photocopy of his employer. He admitted that he has given RK the passport photocopy and his own picture.

MMS has signed on the form of opening a bank account and other related forms, according to the records.

The court adjourned the case until August 7.
