Masked men loot phone shop in Sharjah

Masked robbers looted a mobile phone showroom in Sharjah and allegedly cleared the entire stock in just 20 minutes.

Sharjah Police is investigating the theft at the wholesale shop in Rolla area.

“The robbery took place in one of the two wholesale shops of our company at about 4.30am.  Two men are caught on CCTV wearing black clothes and their faces covered. They are wearing gloves, too, and within 20 minutes they left the place,” said a company official.

“The duo are seen entering the shop after breaking the shutter lock. Then they checked the CCTV cables with a torchlight before clearing off the stock including iPhones, Samsung Galaxy, Nokia Lumia and other expensive mobiles. After taking the phones, they took money from the cash box,” he added.

The company has been operating in the UAE for more than 10 years has about 15 retail shops. “We had a good stock of new and expensive mobile phones such as iPhones, Nokia Lumia, Axiom, Index and other premium brands. Our loss is more than Dh150,000,” said the official.
