Mobile ID registration vehicles to help disabled

Emirates Identity Authority's (Eida) committee of higher administration of management on Wednesday discussed with officials of Department of Population Register to make procedures for obtaining identity cards easier for people with special needs.

They recommended providing registration service through mobile registration vehicles that would move to their place of residence to complete the process of ID card registration and population register, in addition to the fingerprint and take photos for them.

The committee also reviewed suggestions and complaints regarding ID card registration process and promised to fix them at the earliest. The officials blamed the lack of commitment of typing centre officials for problems faced by laymen.

The committee also studied the suggestion of appointing a company to deliver ID cards. The electronic forms of people who do not abide by the second and final deadline will be cancelled they said.
