Mobile pictures of girl 'fetches' man Dh200,000...

Sharjah Police has arrested an Emirati for allegedly blackmailing a girl.

The incident came to light when the girl, unable to bear his threats, filed a complaint.

The Department of Criminal Investigation, Sharjah Police, confronted the man and he confessed to taking money on two occasions by threatening the girl that he would publish her pictures on the internet.

Police confiscated the mobile phone on which he claims to have her pictures.

He first demanded Dh50,000, which the girl paid.

Later, he again asked her to pay him Dh150,000 if she did not want to see her pictures online. So she paid him the amount.

But when he started demanding more, she filed a complaint.

Police urged public to immediately report such cases to authorities.
