Mohamed, King Abdullah hold talks

General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of  UAE Armed Forces, and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, have discussed bilateral relations between their two countries and Arab, regional and international developments of common interest.

The discussions took place in Jeddah as King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received Gen Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed who was accompanied by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed conveyed to the Saudi king greetings from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his best wishes for good health for King Abdullah and for continuous prosperity and progress for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

For his part, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz requested Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to convey his greetings, Eid Al Fitr greetings and best wishes for good health to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his best wishes for continuous prosperity, growth and progress for UAE.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi affirmed that relations between UAE and Saudi Arabia are strong and that they have a mutual interest in strengthening, advancing and developing the relations between the two fraternal countries in different spheres in the service of their common interests.

He also hailed the leading role and vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques during this sensitive period of the history of Arab Nation and Muslim Nation, and valued the king's recent statement as a true expression of the anguish over the violence and aggression targeting the brotherly Palestinian people, and over the threat posed by extremism and terrorism in the region.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also expressed his pride in the fraternal ties, effective solidarity and fruitful cooperation between the two countries which serve the march of action and cooperation of the Gulf region and champion the causes of Arab Nation and Muslim Nation.

The talks took in the regional developments, the most important of which are the Palestinian cause and the Israeli aggression on Gaza, as well as ways of putting an end to shedding the blood of innocent people in this aggression.

Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia's Minister of National Guard Prince Mutaib bin Abdullah, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, and Mohammed Saeed Mohammed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, attended the meeting.

General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan then left Jeddah wrapping up the short visit to Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and the delegation accompanying him were seen off by Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia's Minister of National Guard Prince Mutaib bin Abdullah, and a number of officials.
