‘Mohammed Bin Rashid’ city will move Dubai to next level as global economic hub

Business leaders across industries and sectors praise announcement

Industry captains and business leaders across the UAE have hailed the announcement of the ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid’ city project by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

In comments to various sections of the local media, business leaders across industries and sectors said that the project will move Dubai to a new level in its role as a trade and economic hub in the region and in the world.

Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the DIFC Authority, asserted this project will create a fully integrated economy with developers, contractors, businessmen and private sector investment all working in the interest of the national economy as a whole.

Ali Rashid Lootah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nakheel, praised the new project which represents the third phase of the development plan for Dubai.

He said that the new project will make Dubai a capital for tourist and entertainment, creativity and entrepreneurship.

Khalid Ahmed bin Sulayem, Director General of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), pointed out that the new project will have a positive impact on all economic sectors, specifically tourism, trade and aviation.

Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Shopping Malls Group, said the project is great leap forward for the world.

He added that the project focuses on the shopping and marketing sector with the largest mall in the world.

Ahmed Saif Belhasa, Chairman of Belhasa Group, Chairman of the Contractors Association said that this great project will contribute significantly to the development and growth in Dubai over the long term.

Abdul Hamid Siddique, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ahmed Siddique & Sons said the project will lead Dubai to a new era of sophistication and global development.

Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice-President and Managing Director, DP World said that the announcement of the giant project is a confirmation that Dubai is a world-class city exceeding in leadership and progress.

Essa Kazim, CEO of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) said the project will enhance the UAE’s position in general and Dubai’s in particular where it will advance its strategy to establish itself as a regional centre for global business.
