Their Highnesses expressed their pride in the loyal sons of the UAE who adopted the values of leadership, excellence and innovation to promote the country’s international competitiveness.

They also stressed the importance of maintaining economic diversity based on the UAE’s strengths and experiences, especially in essential sectors such as energy, as well as adopting an academic approach and predicting the future to guarantee growth and prosperity and strengthen the nation’s position among the world’s advanced countries, while ensuring the safety, security and stability of its people.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum toured the main headquarters of ADNOC while accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Creative Clusters Authority; H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of the Emirates Group; and Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Media Council, NMC, and CEO of the ADNOC Group).

His Highness also reviewed the company’s strategy to predict the future and achieve smart growth through several major pillars, which include investing in human resources, enhancing staff performance and increasing added value and economic returns.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stressed that the UAE is moving forward under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in predicting the future, developing and empowering human resources, and establishing the foundation of a strong economy that guarantees growth and prosperity.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum added that correct and clear planning based on loyalty always achieves excellent outcomes. He also expressed his happiness over the positive energy of ADNOC’s young employees, the company’s long-term future plans and its ambitious goals, while stressing the need for more of this energy and ways of thinking in all the nation’s institutions.

At the beginning of the visit, His Highness and the sheikhs were briefed on ADNOC’s vision of being one of the main drivers of development and prosperity in the UAE, through investing in human and natural resources.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed praised ADNOC’s initiatives to widen its strategic partnerships and create joint investment opportunities to provide added value and promote the future growth of promising sectors.

His Highness and the sheikhs were also briefed on the working processes of the company’s main headquarters, starting with its business centre, the purpose of its establishment and its goals of enhancing its performance and efficiency by organising meetings and workshops in an environment that aims to facilitate its work.

During their tour of the business centre, the delegation took part in a live video conference with a group of ADNOC engineers working in three locations -- the Al Rumaitha Oil Field, Buhasa and Das Island -- who briefed the sheikhs on the nature of their work.

The tour also included a visit to Floor "++" at the ADNOC headquarters, where Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by the company’s employees on the purpose of using the symbol "+" in the name of the floor, as it symbolises the added value from the company’s activities and its innovative ideas. The floor has various areas that were designed to motivate employees and drive them to innovate and promote team work.

His Highness and the sheikhs were briefed on the main pillars of ADNOC’s strategy and goals, including raising the value of exploration, development and production operations; increasing gas supplies; promoting growth in refineries and in the petrochemicals and derivatives sectors; and following market trends and restructuring capital.

The presentation also highlighted ADNOC’s many achievements during the previous year, including maintaining high rates of production while reducing costs, benefiting from its combined operations, establishing new partnerships to attract foreign investment, creating added value and adopting advanced technologies, as well as other achievements.

The presentation also included a summary on ADNOC’s human resources development programmes with an emphasis on empowering youth and promoting innovation, including the company’s future leaders programme and its programmes to empower women in the oil and gas sector, as well as other programmes.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum continued his visit as he toured the various areas and meeting rooms of Floor "++," and he and the sheikhs were introduced to the company’s drilling simulator.

They also took part in a discussion on the company’s future leaders programme and the selection criteria for choosing 40 staff members, with seven from the group to be chosen as members of the leader’s council.

The drilling simulator has a mini theatre design that simulates sea oil drilling platforms to connect the company’s office staff with its field environments. It also includes a small theatre for workshops, brainstorming sessions and discussions.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on a smart platform to monitor operations and a crisis and emergency management centre that is being built according to the most advanced technological specifications, as the first of its kind in terms of its ability to monitor operations in all aspects of the company’s work.

The platform also supports ADNOC’s digital transformation and promotes co-ordination, as well as links production planning to market requirements to achieve greater financial and economic success.

His Highness then toured Hall 1958, which commemorates the date of the first drilling operation in the Umm Al Sheif region of Abu Dhabi, with the furniture in the room matching the style of that period, reflecting ADNOC’s commitment to the local community and its social responsibility.

The design of another room, the beach room, is inspired by the life at sea, which was the main source of income in the UAE before the discovery of oil.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed also visited the decision room, which contains the first and oldest meeting table in the ADNOC headquarters, which has witnessed important decisions in the oil and gas sector in the UAE.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum then visited the golf course where he watched part of a panel discussion on women’s empowerment in the oil and gas sector.

During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed signed his name on one of the main pillars of Floor "++" to motivate employees. He also viewed the services floor that was designed for employees to pass their free time and provide them with a range of services such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, travel and tourism assistance, and health insurance, as well as restaurants and retail stores.

At the end of the visit, photos were taken of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan with the future leaders among the employees of ADNOC.
