A Saudi girl whose life was threatened by a serious bone problem returned home from Britain after having treatment at the expense of General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who will also pay all future medical expenses.

Earlier this year, General Mohammed ordered the transfer of 18-year-old Noura to London urgently and offered to pay all expenses for her transport, stay and treatment after the girl’s case, as published in the Saudi Arabic language daily Sabq.

“Noura returned to Saudi Arabia on Sunday evening after having treatment in London at the expense of Sheikh Mohammed,’ the paper said on Wednesday, quoting her brother.

“Thanks to God, and Sheikh Mohammed, the condition of my sister has largely improved since she underwent a back surgery and physiotherapy.

“The rib cage bones which threatened her heart have been treated. We again express our deep gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed,” the unnamed brother added.

He said the UAE embassy in London has told him that Sheikh Mohammed is willing to pay for Noura’s treatment “anywhere in the world and at any time in the future”.

Sabq said Noura has been suffering most of her life from what it described as bone curvature, adding that her heart was threatened by such a problem and could stop any time without proper treatment.
