Mohammed, Egyptian PM hold talks

Issues of common concern to Egypt and the UAE and ways to establish stability in the Arab region were at the heart of talks between His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and visiting Egyptian Prime Minister Dr Essam Sharaf.

Sharaf is in the UAE on a two-day visit leading a high-level delegation.

The discussions, attended by Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, covered a number of bilateral and Arab issues of common interest and enhancing stability in the Arab region.

The Egyptian PM briefed Sheikh Mohammed on his government’s efforts to restore stability and catalyse the development process in Egypt.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed his trust in the Egyptian people and their leadership, and their ability to tackle challenges. He also highlighted the importance of solidifying national unity to build socio-economical advancement and preserve Egypt’s leading regional and international role, wishing the Egyptian people more prosperity and development.

Also present were Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline and Group and President, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Mohammed Dhaen Al Hamli, Energy Minister and head of the honorary mission, UAE Ambassador to Egypt Mohammed Nakheera Al Dhaheri, Chief of Dubai Police Lt General Dahi Khalfan Tamim and other senior officials.

The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Al Orabi, Finance Minister Dr Sameer Radwan, Minister of International Cooperation and Planning Fayza Aboul Naga, Egyptian Ambassador to the UAE others are accompanying Sharaf on his UAE visit.
