Mohammed pats California Chrome after Dubai World Cup win

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday evening honoured strategic sponsors and partners of the 21st Dubai World Cup, at the Meydan Racecourse.

Sheikh Mohammed thanked them for their constructive cooperation and praised the public-private partnership for presenting national and world events organised in the UAE in a civilised manner with commendable success that deserves support and encouragement.

Emirates Airline was honoured as the key strategic partner and sponsor of the Dubai World Cup since it was launched 21 years ago.

 

Mohammed attends Dubai World Cup

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday evening is attending the 21st Dubai World Cup at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse.

With more than $30 million on offer between the nine races, the Dubai World Cup is the richest race meeting in the world. The climax is the $10 million World Cup race, which is run over 2,000 metres and dates back to 1996 when it was won by the great Cigar.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; other sheikhs, senior officials, UAE and foreign owners and breeders along with more than 60,000 fans are attending the racing event.
