Mohammed receives Laurent Fabius

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received at his residence in Paris French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius in presence of Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Fabius welcomed Sheikh Mohammed's visit to France and reiterated the deep-rooted ties between the two countries in all fields.

Sheikh Mohammed and Fabius discussed a number of issue of mutual interest, as well as ways to enhance relations in economic, scientific, tourism and cultural domains.

The meeting also touched on regional developments, including the  current situation in Syria.

Sheikh Mohammed presented a copy of his book 'My Vision' to the French minister who said he was looking forward to read it.

Present during the meeting were Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chief Executive of Emirates Group, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director General of Dubai Ruler's Court, Lt. General Musabah Rashid Al Fattan, Director of the Vice- President's Office, Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director General of Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department, Mohammed Mir Abdullah Al Raisi, UAE Ambassador to France, and  number of French officials.

Mohammed visits Louvre Museum

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday visited the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Sheikh Mohammed toured the various galleries and halls of the world's most famous and most visited museum.

Sheikh Mohammed viewed many of the museum's acquisitions including a number of oil paintings, statues, and sculptures from ancient Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilisations. The tour also included the Islamic Art Department of the museum that includes various Islamic artifacts such as paintings, sculptures, ornaments and calligraphy of Quranic verses, many of which were brought from Egypt following Napoleon's campaign in 1798.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the importance of national museums as preservers and guardians of history, art and heritage of any country, making them a source of information for the next generations, as it is their right to learn about their nation's civilisation, history and culture.

Sheikh Mohammed also praised the French people's prestigious past and present, noting that it is a civilisation worthy of appreciation and exploration, containing a history full of national and human achievements for the French people.

Mohammed issues Notary Law

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, issued Law No. 04 of 2013 regarding the notary public.

The law regulates the profession of the public and private notary public, and sets out terms of reference, requirements, conditions and years of expertise for persons wishing to take up the position.

The law stipulates that special administration for the notary public be established at Dubai Courts Department which may open branches across the Emirate of Dubai if necessary. The law also stipulates that a registry for the private notary public be established at the department.

The law will take effect from the date of issuance and shall be published in the official gazette.

Dr Ahmed bin Hazim, Director General of Dubai Courts, said the law was issued to keep pace with the rapid developments Dubai was witnessing and to streamline and facilitate businesses.

He added that the law would have a far-reaching impact on different business sectors in Dubai, as it provides clients with friendly solutions to process transactions like contract attestation easily and quickly.
