His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has been hailed by a UAE martyr’s mother, who said his visits to her home have made her stronger.

Hessa Abdullah Al Qadi, mother of Tareq Al Shehi, an Emirati police officer who was martyred in a bomb explosion in Bahrain in early 2014, said she was proud to be presented with 'Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scarf' by His Highness when he visited her at her home in Ras Al Khaimah after the martyrdom of her son.

“His Highness left a strong impact in my heart. I just cannot pick the words to thank him. He has spared no occasion to visit us and ensure we are all right,” she said.

“We have learned patience and perseverance from His Highness despite the difficulties. His Highness’s support has made me stronger, more proud and more affiliated to this country and its leaders.

“I am proud to be the first martyr’s mother to be presented with a scarf in His Highness’s name because it is a scarf for all martyrs’ mothers and wives. His Highness is a source of pride to all Emiratis because he has always been an inspiring leader. The 10th anniversary of his accession to power is also a source of pride to all Arabs.”
