Mohammed tours District One project

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Friday toured the construction of Dubai One Project in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum City in Dubai.
 
Sheikh Mohammed, who was accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, reviewed models of the Dh25 billion project, which will be built on a 50-million square metre area.
 
Sheikh Mohammed, who was briefed by Saeed Al Tayer, Board Chairman of the project developer Medyan, said the project will offer a range of phenomenal features and activities including parks, man-made beaches and the stunning 7 kilometre stretch of Crystal Lagoons offering a true beachside and active lifestyle.

The first phase of the development, located between Meydan and Al Khail Road, is scheduled for completion before 2020, when Dubai’s population is forecast to reach 3.4 million.
 
Sheikh Mohammed also inspected the project's show villas, featuring Modern Arabic, Mediterranean, and Contemporary styles.
 
Sheikh Mohammed endorsed the project and directed the implementation of its four phases in accordance with the scheduled time.
 
Sheikh Mohammed expressed his admiration at the architectural designs of the villas and the project in general. He also described it as an integrated and smart project.
 
He said that the project provides a comfortable and high-level of living standards for the family as it is characterised by tranquillity and safety. Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the importance of providing diverse lifestyles for inhabitants in Dubai to meet the needs of the various nationalities and cultures and to cope with their daily lives.
 
"We are keen on giving thorough attention to the security of the UAE’s citizens and expatriate residents, their social and family stability and spread of happiness in every home and district, as well as to make happiness a culture in our homeland that has a multi-ethnic and multicultural society," he added.
 
Sheikh Mohammed also pointed out, "The march of development and progress will not be affected by the surrounding challenges as life must go on, and this our fate in the UAE. We build and enhance the culture of addressing challenges with hard work, determination, and perseverance, and be optimistic and have patience, because patience is the way to creativity and innovation."
 
Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai, and a number of engineers and officials involved with the project.
