His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday visited top US trainer Bob Baffert who is recuperating in intensive care after suffering a massive heart attack.
The 59-year-old, trainer of Dubai World Cup contender Game On Dude, underwent emergency surgery in the early hours on Monday morning.
Game On Dude due to contest the Dubai Golden Shaheen was being prepared by Baffert.
Baffert skipped dinner with Bernie Schiappa - one of the owners of Game On Dude - and retired to bed early on Sunday night. Shortly thereafter, he suffered an attack and was rushed to hospital, where three stents were inserted with a span of just two hours.
Baffert won the Dubai World Cup twice in 1998 and 2001.
