A new survey reveals that pests in Dubai are mainly two - bedbugs and cockroaches.

Imdaad, a leading provider of Integrated Facilities and Waste Management solutions in the GCC, partnered with MoveSouq.com, a portal in the UAE that connects residents to professional home service providers, to conduct an online survey to understand the most common pest control problems in Dubai.

Results revealed that nearly 80 per cent of the issues in Dubai revolve around bedbugs and cockroaches.

Majority of the complaints came from Deira, Satwa and Bur Dubai residents, and were similar in nature.

Out of all complaints, 80 per cent were about bedbugs and cockroaches, while 10 per cent were about ants and 10 per cent around spiders, snakes and lizards.

According to the results, 35 per cent of the respondents have conducted pest control services for their homes in the last three months.

Mahmood Hussein Rasheed, COO, Imdaad, said: “Cockroaches and bedbugs continue to be a major pest control issue in Dubai—as shown by the results of the survey.

MoveSouq.com CEO Bana Shomali said, “At MoveSouq.com, we found a surge in demand for these services. We wanted to explore the reason behind the demand to make sure that we have the best and most relevant providers on our site.”
