A Filipina is in detention centre with her newborn baby because she has no documents to prove she is married to the child's father. The court has asked MA for a copy of the marriage certificate.

A 'Gulf News' report says MA came to the UAE two years ago to work as a  baby-sitter for a family in Abu Dhabi but absconded in May last year when he employer withheld salary for three months.

The Philippines Embassy cancelled the residency visa issued by her employer but she continued staying in the UAE with her husband to look for another job.

Meanwhile, her husband left the UAE to renew his visa after completing three years in the country and MA, who was already pregnant, moved in with a friend in Rashidiya.

On May 2, MA delivered a baby boy in Al Wasl Hospital.

The case is adjourned until July 17 to give her time to get a copy of the marriage contract from the Philippines.
