Mouse causes blast in Khorfakkan restaurant

Three Asian restaurant workers were injured in a gas cylinder blast in the eastern UAE port of Khorfakkan and police blamed a mouse for the accident.

The blast caused a fire at the restaurant at the time when the three workers were inside preparing food, according to the Arabic language daily Alittihad.

Investigation by the police and civil defence showed that a mouse had gnawed the gas cylinder pipes, causing a leak which resulted in the explosion and fire.
