New Dubai number plates auction on October 1

The Licensing Agency of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is poised to offer an array of distinctive vehicles licensing plates in the next 73rd Number Plate Public Auction scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at RTA Head Office.

Registration will open on Sunday September 25 and continue up to the day of the Auction at Deira Licensing Center, Bur Dubai Licensing Center, Main Customer Service Center, and Unified Municipal Services Center at Al Tawar. Registration can also be made online through the website (www.rta.e) as well as on the very day of the Auction between 02:30 pm up to 05:00 pm.

“The next public auction will offer about 125 distinctive plates comprising binary numbers (5 numbers) and a host of 3, 4 and 5-digit number plates of the Codes K, J and I,” revealed Abdulla Abdul Rahman, Acting Director of Vehicle Licensing at RTA’s Licensing Agency.

He anticipated that the Auction would attract considerable number of clients from all community segments particularly as it would offer distinctive 2-digit numbers such as K-14 and K-16, 3-digit numbers like J-444 & K-333, 4-digit numbers highlighted by J-1000 & K-6666 and 5-digit numbers including I-70000 and K-77777.

“Successes made in previous editions of open auctions have prompted us to continually hold these auctions to satisfy the needs of customers who have a genuine desire to own distingtive licensing plates,” added Abdul Rahman.

It is worth-mentioning that anyone interested in taking part in the Auction has to submit a cheque amounting to Dh10,000 as a deposit; which is refundable in case no successful bid is made.
