New Dubai park, Nakheel, opens (video)

Dubai Municipality announced the unveiling of the Nakheel park in Al Aweer through its social media networks.

Both its official Instagram and Twitter handles posted videos and images of the big reveal, with “Dubai seeks to add a new palm oasis to its green areas”.

The Nakheel Park is located in Al Aweer.

“Download Makani application and enter 5042683764 to arrive easily,” reads their status message.

It is spread across 7.5 hectares of land, and cost Dh24.3 million to build.

It features an engineered gardening design in the shape of a palm, with an oasis in the middle.

The gardening took 60 days to complete, with the park boasting of 39 varieties of date palmto  have been planted, and new varieties to be introduced soon. The park has 1,240 palms and 60 ornamental trees. It also has 32,979 ornamental shrubs and 6,849 flowers every square metre.
