New law: Only 2 pets per house in Ajman

The Chairman of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, has issued local resolution on regulating possession of domestic pet animals like cats and dogs.

According to the resolution, it shall be illegal to possess a pet animal in the emirate of Ajman without obtaining a license from the Department's Administration of Public Health and Environment.

The license will be granted after providing all required documents.

Under the resolution, only owners of villas with a yard shall be granted the license.

It is prohibited to keep a pet animal in an apartment.

Owners are not permitted to take their pets to shopping malls, public places, public parks, restaurants, coffee shops, cinemas and into public transport buses.
 
The resolution limits the maximum number of pets per household to two.
