The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council – the authority in charge of developing infrastructure according to quality standards in Abu Dhabi – has launched a conformity programme for personnel services, in cooperation with the health department at the Abu Dhabi municipality.

The programme seeks to raise awareness among those employed in the cosmetics sector regarding safety and professional health, which contributes to improving the quality of services being provided in Abu Dhabi and guarantees the safety of the community by assuring their compliance to the requirements and standards identified by regulatory authorities and experts in Abu Dhabi.

The standards and requirements of the programme had been identified according to the best international practices and requirements of regulatory authorities, through a team that includes a number of local and governmental organizations and representatives from beauty centers and salons.

Mohamed Helal Al Baloushy, the Head of Communications and Marketing at the Council, said the role of the council is vital in carrying out the Abu Dhabi Plan.

The matching program for personnel services in the cosmetic sector contributes to the development and enforcement of guaranteeing the best quality services presented to the public.

The programme for personnel in the cosmetic sector is made up of five phases, including the training of personnel on the mandatory requirement of health and safety, assessing their knowledge, capacities and skills by having theoretical and practical tests, followed by the Council issuing certificates for those who fulfill the requirements and, lastly, the regulatory authorities issuing licenses for qualified personnel to work in their fields, while submitting to continuous monitoring during the period of validity of the license.
