No criminal act in Briton's death: Dubai Police

A British man who has been found dead in Al Sufouh area in Dubai recently had consumed a large quantity of liquor and no criminal act was involved in his death, according to the emirate’s police.

“He died after consuming a large quantity of alcoholic drinks as he was at a party in the Media City before his death,” a police source said, quoted by the Sharjah-based Arabic language daily 'Al Khaleej'.

The source said initial results of forensic examination showed the man, identified as Paul, died normally just after attending a party at a hotel in the Media City on Saturday.

“He was with another man when he died. We believe there was no criminal act. We have coordinated with the British consulate in Dubai to take the body and hand it to his relatives,” the source said.
