There is no intention at present to increase the fees for parking in the emirate of Dubai, says Adel Al Marzouqi, Manager of parking department of the RTA, according to Al Khaleej.

He stressed that the RTA is selling the prepaid parking cards for owners of commercial licences from grocery shops, shopping malls after making 25 per cent a discount.

He added that there is also a 15 per cent discount for the individuals who buy prepaid parking cards in advance from the offices of the RTA.

Al Marzouqi said cardholders of prepaid parking cards A and B can use them in various areas of the emirate with the exception of the parking of the fish market.

Parking at Fish Market is excluded to avoid parking for unnecessarily long periods, especially in light of its distance from residential areas.

He confirmed that RTA has contracted with concerned bodies in Media City for specialised 100 paid parkings, while the rest are free of charge, explaining that the service of paid parking via mobile phone does not exceed 4 hours.
