No pork in McDonald's food in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi health authorities denied reports that pork has been detected in products sold by McDonald’s, saying tests have shown all its food is pork-free.

The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority said it was reacting  to widespread reports on social networks that mayonnaise and other products used in fast meals by the US food giant contain pork as some of them have been imported from the US.

It said the reports were based on news from foreign organisation that a large quantity of mayonnaise and spices imported by McDonald’s from the US contained pork.

“We have checked McDonald’s outlets and tested some samples. We found there is no pork in any product and no foodstuff has been imported by the company from the US recently,” the authority said in a statement.
