Dubai Police has launched a smart service, wherein one’s driving record can be checked on smartphones.

Colonel Saif Mohair Al Mazroui, Director, General Directorate of Traffic, Dubai Police, said: “The service allows motorists to obtain an electronic certificate sent to the e-mail of the licence owner.

"They can find out about their prior traffic offences recorded on their licence, including traffic fines and the number of traffic points. Also the number of times that their driving licence was suspended, in addition to the total medium or minor incidents they were involved in.”

Colonel Dr Ahmed bin Sabih, Acting Director, General Directorate of Smart Services, said, “General Directorate of Smart Services, initiated under the supervision of Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, provides intelligent services that gives motorists access with the push of a button from the mobile phone.”

He added this service can assist companies for hiring of drivers or even for personal services, wherein the employer can now know the driver’s behaviour and traffic history.

Dubai Police plans to launch more smart services during the ongoing Gitex.
