An old Oman woman was killed when she was knocked over by a car as she tried to cross the street in Fujairah. Moments later, her body was run over by another vehicle, whose drive fled the scene.
The woman, in her 60s, was crossing over to the other side on Etihad Road near KM roundabout in the eastern city when she was hit by a car. Its driver stopped and went to examine the woman when another vehicle ran her over.
“The woman was killed instantly by the first car….another car coming on that road run her body over but its driver did not stop,” said Lt Colonel Hassan Jumma, deputy director of Fujairah’s traffic police.
