Old woman on way to see son dies in air

An 80-year-old Syrian woman on her way from Abu Dhabi to see her son in Saudi Arabia died just 20 minutes before her flight landed in the Gulf Kingdom, a newspaper reported on Monday.

A doctor who happened to be aboard Saudia flight to the western Red Sea port of Jeddah tried in vain to save the woman’s life after she suffered from heart failure, the Arabic language daily Sabq said.

“She died just around 20 minutes before the plane landed…her son said she was coming to Saudi Arabia to visit him,” it said.
