A Pakistani visitor allegedly smuggled about Indian Rs3 million in forged notes, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The Dubai Prosecution accused MAA, 26 of smuggling in forged currency for promotional purpose.

According to the records, Emirati, inspector, Suhail Mohammed at Dubai International Airport suspected one of the passengers.

After checking his luggage via the machine, he was stopped for search. The inspector found 5,549 notes each of 500 Indian Rupees hidden neatly in the sides of a carton. The total amount was Indian Rupees 2,774,500.

The forensic reported that the notes were neatly forged that an ordinary person cannot figure it out.

The accused confessed to the accusation and the court adjourned the case for verdict until October 17.
