Dubai Police has urged owners of vehicles, which have been confiscated, to clear fines and reclaim their cars.

In case penalties are not cleared within a month of when the announcement is made, cars will be put up for auction.

“Dubai Police announced that any confiscated or mortgaged vehicle that stays in police custody for more than six months will be sold in auction,” read the statement on their official Twitter handle.

“Car owners are requested to contact the fines section at Al Barsha or Deira Traffic Department from 11/8/2015 to 11/9/2015, to solve the reasons behind the confiscation. This is based on the local law no (34) for the year 2008."

Dubai Police website shows 456 cars listed under this.

Each car's make, model, colour, date of confiscation, chasis number and number plate is marked.
