Pink Caravan: Traffic impact on Dubai roads today... details here
The Pink Caravan Ride kicks off from Downtown Dubai-Burj Khalifa at 9am to reach Al Sofouh Beach in Dubai at 3pm. The mobile and fixed medical clinics welcomes visitors of various nationalities who want to get free breast cancer early detection examinations, from 9-7pm.
Meanwhile, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in a series of tweets this morning has alerted Dubai motorists about the event that could impact traffic on certain roads.
One of the early tweets read: “For your convenience, please note that there’s expected delay today at Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.”
Another alert, read: “Dear road user, please note that there’s expected delay today at Jumeirah Road from 12:00 pm – 3:00pm.” This was closely followed by yet another tweet, which read: “To all road users, please use Al Wasl Road or Sheikh Zayed Road if you are heading today towards Bur Dubai area from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm.”
Similarly, motorists coming from Dubai Marina or JBR towards Jumeirah, are advised to “use Abdullah Omran Taryam Street from 12pm to 3pm.”
And motorists coming from Jumeirah area to Dubai Marina or JBR are requested to “use Abdullah Omran Taryam Street from 12pm to 3pm,” read a latest RTA tweet.
The Pink Caravan will organise the CEO's Ride, in which 10 top CEO's will take part in Pink Caravan Ride 2016 on a high note. As the Dubai route commences, CEOs will join the Pink Caravan Ride and lead the trek from Burj Khalifa to Burj Al Arab.
By enrolling in UAE Top CEOs’ Ride for Dh200,000, each CEO will ensure the full treatment cost of a breast cancer patient in the UAE. With a total target of Dh2,000,000, 10 Chief Executive Riders will light up the life of 10 breast cancer patients.
The Pink Caravan, a pan-UAE awareness initiative by the Friends of Cancer Patients, FoCP, on Monday invited all CrossFit enthusiasts in the UAE to join its CrossFit event that took place at Jumeriah Beach Residence, JBR, from 6-8pm.
The events organising committee aims to provide entertaining and exciting sports events that help draw the attention of the largest possible audiences into the mobile clinics. Additionally, the event intends to inform the public about breast cancer, urging them to take advantage of the awareness programmes organised by the medical teams. It also aims to encourage the public to get free breast cancer screenings offered by the Pink Caravan to both women and men of various nationalities across the seven emirates.
