Sharjah Police arrested a group of eight men for allegedly stealing auto parts from shops in the industrial areas of the emirate.
The cops acted on complaints received by several owners of firms in the recent past.
They tracked down seven Nigerians and a Bengali who specialised in breaking into shops and walking away with auto parts.
Police team was assisted by Dubai Police and the Rapid Intervention Team for Special Tasks Department, Sharjah Police.
The Nigerian was arrested in Dubai and he led officials to other team members.
One of them have left the country, he said.
The men confessed to selling their loot.
Cops then raided their residence and confiscated tools they used to break into shops.
The suspects have been referred to Public Prosecution.
Sharjah Police have called upon shop owners to be vigilant and deposit daily collections safely and even deploy security guards.
