Police denies rumours posted on social media

Dubai Police has denied rumours posted on some social networking sites that an Emirati father had brought three Arab nationals into the UAE who claimed they could cure his son’s homosexuality, according to a report in the Arabic daily newspaper ‘Al Bayan.’

A message had spread on social media that the father had given half a million dirhams to each of the three of them for medical treatment of his son’s homosexuality.

The message said the three persons had chemicals which they would apply on the patient while reading some incantations.

Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation, called on the public not to believe in such rumours because they are not based on facts. The police had also not received any complaint, he added.
