MBM, a 24-year-old jobless Emirati, allegedly assaulted a Pakistani detainee for laughing, fractured his nose and caused him 5 per cent permanent disability.

Abubaker Siddiq Jehangir, 22, testified that on May 5 while he was in Al Rashidiya police station detention, the accused, also a police detainee, came to him, slapped him and punched him on his nose after asking him why he was laughing.
 
The victim was rushed to hospital. The victim was assessed to have suffered five per cent permanent disability.
 
The court adjourned the case until December 11.
