Two Emirati policemen of Dubai Nationalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) allegedly converted visit visas into residency permits of four people including two women by falsifying electronic documents, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

AMM, 24, first policeman, and AAH, 38, corporal, were also accused of using these documents and fixing the false residencies on the passports of VM, Azerbaijani, and GBD, Tajikistani and other two as well.

Two Uzbeks identified as JD, 47, partner and ZS, 33, salesman (fugitive) have been accused of incitation and criminal complicity.

Head of Administrative Control Section at DNRD, corporal Tareq Abdullah, testified that he received a tip-off from a source about the accused that they illegally amended status of violators by issuing them residencies and avoiding paying fines.

“Investigating the information, I found out that it was true. On confronting the accused, they admitted doing that. VM admitted to asking his partner AHH (DNRD’s employee) to help his friend ZS to amend the status of the women who were on his company’s sponsorship on tourist visas.”

Other DNRD’s staff repeated similar testimonies.

The Prosecution supplied the court with electronic documents which proved that the two accused had falsified the status of four people.

The court adjourned the case till April 3.
