Prisoner of eight children appeals for help

A Sudanese man of eight children is appealing for help to settle his debt so he will be released from jail and reunited with his family as he is its sole supporter.

Mohammed Ali, 56, has been jailed in Ajman after failing to pay the Dh34,000 debt to a water tank company, in which he was a partner.

He was accused of giving his partners a cheque which bounced when it was due and police said he could be free once he pays back his partners.

“I appeal for all benevolent people and the Faraj Fund at the Interior Ministry to help me out…I am very much worried about my family as I am their only supporter and all of them are students,” he told 'Emarat Al Youm' daily.
