Two Emiratis were killed and 40 injured in separate accidents caused by heavy rain in Fujairah and Khorfakkan on Friday, police said.

An Emirati young man died and his two friends were injured when his car plunged into a valley in Fujairah after crashing into another vehicle in Wadi Al Abadela. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.

In Khorfakkan on the eastern coast, another Emirati man was killed after they were swept by floods that hit the area near Wareea dam, police said, adding that 12 other flood victims, including six Britons and four Germans, were rescued.

Quoted by the semi-official daily 'Al Ittihad' on Saturday, police said 40 separate accidents took place in Fujairah on Friday, adding they seized four Emirati young men who were involved in risky driving stunts in the emirate.
