Residents of Dubai and the UAE were hoping that the severe thunderstorm would lower temperatures in the emirates today. Not to be.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) the weather today (Tuesday) is expected to remain hot during the day and hazy at times, and partly cloudy over some areas, with a chance of towering clouds developing eastwards and southwards by afternoon.

Temperature will hover around 47 degrees with very high humidity levels.

Although the wind is expected to be light to moderate in general, it could increase in intensity at times causing blowing dust/sand.

The relative humidity is likely to increase during night and tomorrow early morning over some coastal and internal areas.

Sea will be moderate to slight over the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough at times over Oman sea, the forecast said.

Several parts of the country, mainly the wadis have been experiencing flash floods during the last few days and the have been warning residents living in these areas to be cautious.
