Rain traps holiday party of 10 in RAK valley...

The Air Wing Department of Sharjah yesterday launched a rescue mission to save 10 citizens, aged between 10 and 30, after they were trapped by heavy rains in Al Beah Valley in Ras Al Khaimah.

Once the operations room received the distress call from the Police General Headquarters in Ras Al Khaimah the aircraft search and rescue team was dispatched.

Colonel Abdalla Salem Al Zeeb, Head of the Air Wing in Sharjah, said that the 10 were rescued thanks to the special equipped the air wing uses, which includes a specialised crane.

Brigadier General Ali Mohammed Mazrui, Director of the Air Wing at the General Secretariat of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, called on citizens and residents to avoid dangerous places, during in times of rain and not to risk their lives, cutting through valleys and roads located by the banks of water bodies.
