Rainfall in RAK, Ajman; drop in UAE temperatures

Relief from the spike in the Mercury has come with rainfall that swept across parts of northern UAE and the islands on Sunday.

The UAE's National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) confirmed light rainfall was recorded in Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and parts of Ajman, with temperatures taking a dip in its aftermath.

The weather on Monday is forecast to experience a further dip in temperatures, even as moderate to fresh winds sweep over land, giving rise to dust over exposed areas, even as strong winds are forecasted to blow across the sea.

The latter is expected to give rise to rough seas in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea will be relatively moderate in comparison.

However, as the day progresses, the relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over some internal areas, with a chance of mist or fog formation over some internal areas of the UAE in the morning.

The weather pattern will take us into Tuesday, with cloud cover expected to increase in the evening and on Wednesday morning over the western region and the islands.

While the winds should be light to moderate winds, freshening at times over northern areas, the relative humidity will increase during night and early morning on Wednesday over some internal areas, with a chance of fog formation.
