Rains, dust storms may ruin weekend parties

If you are planning an outdoor trip this weekend be warned, the UAE met department has warned of unstable weather condition with possible rain, dust storm and a rough sea.
Parts of UAE experienced scattered rainfall during the last 24 hours.
According to the latest update by National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology the country received until Wednesday morning (12:15pm) about 18.8mm of rainfall.
“Ras Musherib has received a maximum of 4mm of rainfall. The figures are going to increase during the day as more rains are expected. Other areas including parts of Umm Al Quwain, Ruwais and Al Ghuwaifat are also experiencing light to medium showers,” an NCMS official said.
Most of last night’s rain was concentrated around the Delma Island, he added. “The country is under the influence of unstable weather conditions, where the amount of clouds is increasing over different areas, with some towering clouds, associated with rain over scattered areas.
Temperatures tend to decrease in general,” said the NCMS forecast for Wednesday.
The temperature along the coastal areas could drop to a minimum of 17 degrees and to about 14 degrees in the mountains.
Light and medium rain is expected to continue in scattered areas across the UAE on Wednesday, Thursday morning and Friday night.
The forecast has also warned drivers to be careful as moderate to fresh winds would cause blowing dust/sand, and may reduce the horizontal visibility at times over the openland areas.
Around coastal areas wind speed is expected to be around 20 - 29kph and may reach 55kph at times.
Those venturing into the sea are also warned as NCMS predicts a rough sea during the weekend.
