The Ras Al Khaimah Police are honouring the imam of a mosque in the emirate for upholding excellent security measures by asking a visitor to reveal the content of his bag.

The imam, named Ali Sawi, carried out the inspection personally during prayer in his mosque, after a man entered with a bag in his hand.

The mosque visitor placed the bag in the mosque, when the iman approached him immediately, asking him, what is inside.

When the person claimed it was only paperwork, the imam insisted that he reveal the contents of the bag to make sure that the bag did not contain any material that may pose a threat to the congregation.

A police officer attending the prayers witnessed the incident and reported the good conduct.

On the directives of Major General Ali Abdullah Alwan Al Naimi, Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, and on behalf of Jamal Ahmed Al Tayer, Director General of Resources and Support Services Police Ras Al Khaimah, the imam was honoured for his sense of security and responsibility towards the society in which he lives.
