RAK ruler pays for child's birth
The ruler of Ras Al Khaimah is to pay all costs of delivery by an Arab woman in response to her husband’s plea on a local radio station that he can not afford it given his low salary, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Sabq Al Qassimi, a Supreme Council member, was listening to a live programme on RAK Radio when Ahmed Zuhair appealed for help to pay Dh5,000 as costs of delivery at hospital so his wife can have their first baby.
“Just as His Highness heard the man’s plea, he immediately ordered the payment of all delivery costs and post-delivery services,” Alkhaleej daily said, quoting Mohammed Al Ali, head of the RAK Ruler’s private department.
“This swift gesture illustrates his keenness to support humanitarian issues and interact with all media organs so they can play their human part.”
