Ras Al Khaimah lifts ban on truck traffic

Beginning this Sunday, truck drivers will be allowed to use internal roads in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah at all hours, RAK Police has announced.

Currently, truck traffic is banned during morning hours on the internal roads of Ras al Khaimah. The ban has been lifted for the period between June 30 and September 1.

The announcement was based on the directives of Commander in Chief of RAK Police Talib bin Saqr Al Qasimi.

Deputy Commander Mohammad Nubian Mohammed said the move came with the end of the school year. The ban will be imposed again at the beginning of the new academic year to protect students going to school from the danger of trucks on the road.
