His Highness Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, on Tuesday ordered Sharjah Police to take immediate and strict action against negligent and reckless motorists that cause deliberate disturbance to the neighbourhood. The confiscated vehicles will not be returned to the owners under any condition.

He also ordered the shutdown of any facility that carries illegal modifications of vehicles. He added that police officials violating the directive will be held accountable.

He made the announcement during the live show Al-Khat Al-Mubasher on Sharjah TV. The directives fall in line with the Ruler's concern for the safety and comfort of residents in Sharjah, and his commitment to fostering a secure and peaceful environment in the emirate.

In response, Major-General Hamid Mohammed Al Hudaidi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, has requested all officers to comply with the Ruler of Sharjah's directive and impound vehicles that flout the order. Pointing out that the safety of pedestrians and other motorists is of utmost priority, Al Hudaidi assured that he would closely monitor and ensure the implementation of His Highness' directives throughout all areas of Sharjah.

The directive has been widely welcomed by the residents of Sharjah who are thankful for the Ruler of Sharjah's attention and concern about their safety and security.
