In a ceremony held on Tuesday in his office, Colonel Ahmed Saif bin Zeitoun Al Muhairi, Deputy Director of Peripheral Regions Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police honored Shadi Najib Abideen (33 years old) of Syrian nationality, in recognition of his cooperation in foiling a theft attempt of two bulldozers, and the arrest of the perpetrator who intended to sell them as scrap metal.

Colonel Al Muhairi lauded Abideen’s efficient role in maintaining security and stability. He also praised his valuable assistance and quick response in reporting the suspected foul play which led the police to thwart the attempt beforehand; calling on all society segments to adhere to these values.

He added: “This honoring embodies the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy, which calls for activating community partnership between the ADP and the public, and bolstering cooperation to establish security and safety.”  Concluding, Colonel Al Muhairi offered Abideen a certificate of appreciation and a symbolic gift, wishing him success in his life.

The ceremony was attended by Captain Saeed F Bakhit Al Darmaki, Planning and Studies Branch Manager; Captain Hamad Juma Al Kaabi, Strategic Planning Branch Manager, the Peripheral Regions Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police.

Abideen had recently shared his doubts with the Peripheral Regions Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, regarding an individual trying to sell him two unfit pieces of heavy equipment (bulldozers), parked in Al Faya area in Abu Dhabi, without number plates.

The Abu Dhabi Police team managed to lure and arrest the suspect, F. N. Z (a 24-year old Syrian) red-handed while trying to sell the two pieces of equipment as scrap metal.
