The Driver Training and Qualification Department at the RTA Licensing Agency launched a new initiative entitled “Afedna” which aims to compile the constructive opinions of those who recently obtain driving licenses, in order to promote the training sector of driving institutions and centers in the Emirate of Dubai.

Hussain Al Saffar, Director of Drivers Training and Qualification in the Auhtority said “we constantly seek to lay down development initiatives and plans that aim at promoting and developing the driving schools in Dubai at the highest international standards in this field. This is achieved through providing the best training programs to trainees delivered by competent instructors in the driving institutions and centers, which is positively reflected on promoting safe driving and instilling good traffic culture among people in terms of the necessity to abide by the rules and laws. Such trend would contribute to lessening the future traffic accidents caused by recklessness and non-compliance.”

He added that “the Drivers Training and Qualification Department has been keen to develop a comprehensive questionnaire including a number of important questions in both Arabic and English, which are useful in the development process. The questionnaire addresses comments and accommodates them to be in consistence with the vision of the Licensing Agency (safe driver, safe vehicle and internationally high standard services).”

He also indicated that the questions covered several aspects such as those related to the entity itself in terms of compliance, training procedures as per the approved policies, the standardized training curriculum, established fees, how the front office staff in driving schools deal with trainees, measuring the trainees’ satisfaction of the driving skills acquired during the training, the extent of trainers’ compliance with the training hours as well as other significant development aspects.

The Director of Drivers Training and Qualification made clear that cooperation was made with the RTA call center whose staff communicated with  the new drivers, and selected various samples and segments with different nationalities, languages and professions in order to identify their opinions about the questionnaire questions. Such cooperation aims to reach the best positive results intended to develop the training sector of the driving schools in Dubai.
