RTA to auction 400 number plates

RTA’s Licensing Agency is all set to hold the 37th online plate number auction on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, which will continue for three days.

About 400 distinctive plates of four- and five-digits will be on offer covering A, B, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q and R codes.

Registration for the auction will start at 8am on Tuesday, and continue up to the last day of the auction.

“This online auction would feature a diverse cast of superb four- and five-digit plates for standard vehicles, which promises to generate competitive bidding, and offer a highly transparent and hassle-free environment to the liking of different community segments,” said Sultan Al Marzooki, Director of Vehicles Licensing, RTA’s Licensing Agency.

“To participate in the auction, the potential bidder has to have an account established through RTA’s portal (www.rta.ae), or use the new link provided to obtain a Username and Password. The bidder must also own a vehicle registered in Dubai, or a driver license issued from Dubai. Each bidder has to deposit Dh5,000 as a security refundable in case no successful bid is made. Deposit refunds are made through Customer Service Centers in Dubai (Umm Al Romool, Bur Dubai, Deira, Al Tawar Municipal Center), where staffs will also help clients complete registration and take part in the bidding.
