Rumours shroud 3-year-old's death in mall

A three-year-old girl reportedly died after she fell from the parking lot of a shopping mall in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi.

According to reports in 'Al Ittihad' newspaper, BlackBerry messages doing the rounds claim that the child was kidnapped from a shopping mall in Mussafah. And that the kidnappers allegedly raped and killed the child before throwing her from the parking lot of the shopping centre.

However, the paper quotes a source as saying the message is mere rumour. The medical report claims the child died as her heart stopped functioning because of internal bleeding in the brain, which was due to the head injury she suffered from the fall.

The report also denies any criminal act in the accident.

The case has been referred to the general prosecutor.
