Behind every red carpet moment — including those of our own beautiful regional celebrities and socialites — there are fashion designers always working diligently behind the scenes to create that picture perfect look for their audience.

These designers are incredibly talented and influential, and their work deserves to be celebrated. In partnership with Sofitel Dubai the Palm Resort and Spa, celebrity beauty house, Maison De Joelle, and Fameworx Modeling & Events Model Management, Runway Dubai will soon be turning the spotlight on eight international fashion designers responsible for making the magic happen.

“The RUNWAY DUBAI team is overwhelmingly thrilled to be producing and working with true professionals for this one-of-a-kind event,” says Modupe Omonze, fashion designer and founder of RUNWAY DUBAI. “The decision to showcase the sneak peak collections of local and international designers is unique and coincides perfectly with the forward-thinking approach that Dubai is trying to implement in support of growing their own fashion industry.”

The Runway Dubai bash will be taking place on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Sofitel Dubai the Palm. Coming all the way from the island of Trinidad to perform during the intermission of the event, will be Caribbean Soca singing sensation, Destra.

The line-up of the Runway Dubai invited designers include the UAE’s own Jamila Al Mansour, owner of Ghawashi Couture; Russian designer Olga Nurek of Victoria Strange Couture based in Dubai; Amraoui Couture owned by Dubai-based designer Leila Amraoui of Morocco; Donaco Couture created by Philippine designer Benjamin Uy, who is based in Abu Dhabi; London-based Congolese designer Tina Lobondi of Tina Lobondi Designs; Malaysian designer NazreenIdris of NazreenIdris designs; Farida Style by Eritrean designer Farida Deglel; and Dubai-based Nigerian designer Modupe Omonze of Modupe Omonze Couture.

Runway Dubai was created to unite local/regional designers with international designers within the growing fashion industry. By building a platform and awareness for both locally and internationally based designers, our goal is to celebrate fashion with all the key elements and significance that the UAE has to offer.
